Metinvest’s Green Centre has launched the clean-up initiative with the support of Mariupol residents who are themselves in difficult straits because of the war with Russia and have to live in Kryvyi Rih. Clean-ups were arranged in Pokrovskyi and Ternovskyi districts.
Spring clean-ups took place near Central GOK training centre and at the roundabout of Northern GOK. The volunteers also cleaned the parks: removed grass and weeds, swept paths, and mulched trees. Managers of Metinvest’s Green Centre provided the participants of the initiative with the required tools and gloves and chefs of Central and Northern GOKs canteens cooked delicious lunches.
“IDPs from war zones are provided employment at Metinvest companies in Kryvyi Rih. These clean-up initiatives help them get to know Kryvyi Rih residents better as well as participate in the city’s life and feel that they are needed and belong here. They can receive useful information and exchange contacts with new friends,” says Metinvest’s Green Centre manager Violeta HROMOVA.
