DTEK Oil&Gas has successfully completed the deep well stimulation at Semirenkivske field, using a cutting-edge technology to secure a commercial gas and condensate inflow and make the well productive again. The stimulation also confirmed the hydrocarbon reserves at a horizon never developed commercially before.

Stimulation was at a low permeability reservoir below 5,000 m with high pressures and temperatures. The adaptation of the cutting-edge technology was successfully lead by Technology Centre of DTEK Oil&Gas.

"Considering how complex the geological and process factors are in the well, the stimulation has succeeded thanks to a comprehensive approach to adaptation of the cutting-edge technologies. The project involved many teams of DTEK Oil&Gas, the leading international and Ukrainian service companies, as well as specialist members of the standing Expert Board," noted Maxim Dorokhov, Head of Technology Centre.

To remind, in 2019 DTEK Oil&Gas established the Expert Board with 13 international experts to facilitate the uptake of the best international practices.
DTEK Oil&Gas Director for Hydrocarbons Production and Processing Oleksiy Raptanov highlighted: "This stimulation proves that such works can be efficiently performed below 5,000 m in conditions of high pressures and temperatures. This will allow to develop new hard-to-recover reserves, which is strategically important today for increasing the gas production and achieving the energy independence of Ukraine."
