With the capacity of lifting 22 people at a time, the special-purpose machine is used in underground mines in case of emergencies or failures of mine shaft cages. The machinery is going to contribute greatly to miners’ safety.

The C-3x2.2AR lifting machine can bring people from the depth of about 1 km to the surface in several minutes. The facility includes a winder with a 3 m hoist drum and a special control system located at grass. The lifting machine will be installed in a ventilation shaft in a mine under umbrella of Pokrovske Mining Group (Donetskstal). The facility will make miners safe in case of emergencies or failures of shaft cages.

“With the capacity of 14 tonnes, the lifting machine hoists a cage with miners from the depth of over 900 m in two and a half minutes. It is time-proven and reliable equipment that will not let you down in a difficult situation and can guarantee safety of people,” said Viktor Svistunov, head of capital construction department at Donetskstal.

Corum Druzhkivka Heavy Engineering Plant will produce the facility for Pokrovske Mining Group.

“The machine has been already designed and will be manufactured in a way to save customers the trouble of spending on its maintenance. It features the cutting-edge control and automation systems.  The launch of the facility at Pokrovske Mining Group is scheduled for June 2020,” said Mykhailo Potapov, acting CEO of Corum Group.
