DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko has been appointed to the Supervisory Board of the United Nations Global Compact Network Ukraine. The decision was made at the extraordinary meeting of the UN GC Network on 26 February.
The UN GC Network Ukraine is an official representative of the UN Global Compact, a voluntary initiative for promoting corporate social responsibility among global business communities. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) define global sustainable development priorities and objectives.
DTEK adheres to the principles of sustainable development and has been a participant of the UN Global Compact since 2007. In 2010, the company joined the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine.
DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko: "Development of the society, people, and communities, as well as preservation of the environment is an important objective for any business. We must join our efforts to demonstrate responsible business behaviour and lead by example. By doing this, we will be able to engage more Ukrainian companies to share and follow the UN sustainable development principles. This year, DTEK has launched a new long-term development strategy, which is based on the UN SDGs and complies with the ESG principles: environmental, social and corporate governance."

Joining the efforts now, we will pursue global goals and show by our own example how a responsible business can become more successful,” said Tatiana Sakharuk, Chairwoman of the Board of the UN Global Compact Network in Ukraine.
