football club with a 70-year history, champion of Ukraine 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008; 6-time winner of
the Ukrainian Football Cup; Winner of the Super Cup of Ukraine 2005; Winner of
the 1st TV Channel Cup 2006 in
Israel, 2009 UEFA Cup Winner.
The
outstanding success record of FC Shakhtar has been inspired by the excellence
and professionalism of the players and trainers, the great team work and
competitive spirit, as well as the strong support of committed fans.

Donbass Arena – new FC Shakhtar stadium
Construction
of the new club’s stadium for 50,000 visitors was commenced in 2006. On the 29
August 2009 Donetsk celebrated the Grand Opening of Donbass Arena - the first
stadium in Eastern Europe designed and built in line with 5-star UEFA standards.
