SCM has paid the next tranche for the secured loan of USD 545m. The payment has been effected in full compliance with the terms fixed in the loan facility agreement.
SCM took part in the International Public Environmental Award, Terra Viva -2010, with a project to improve the park area around Donbass Arena stadium and cover it with green plants and grasses. The project won one of 16 nominations.
SCM Group has completed the purchase of the 6.4% interest in Donetskgormash and, thus, increased its shareholding to the level of controlling stock 50.5% (before the transaction SCM Group owned 43.65% of Donetskgormash shares).
On 7 July Brussels hosted the Round Table of the EU-Ukraine Business Council "EU?Ukraine Negotiations on the DCFTA: What is at Stake for Business and Industry?" supported by the representative office of the EU in Ukraine. SCM became a partner of the event.
The UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2010 held in New York on 24-25 June has become the largest meeting on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the history of the United Nations (UN). Over 1,500 representatives of businesses, non-profit organisations, investment and academic communities, governments of many countries and the UN widely participated in discussion of the most pressing global challenges.
On 9 June Kiev hosted a regular general meeting of members of the UN Global Compact (GC) Network in Ukraine. The meeting traditionally discussed development of the network and ways to implement GC principles in Ukrainian businesses. SCM was one of the meeting participants.
